MSIG Insurance (Malaysia) Bhd Announces New CEO

Malaysia, November 6, 2008 – MSIG Insurance (Malaysia) Bhd (MSIG Malaysia) announced today Song Yam Lim will retire as the Chief Executive Officer of MSIG Malaysia on 31 December2008.

With effect from 1 January next year, Kenichi Fukuhara, the current Executive Director of MSIG Malaysia, will be appointed as the new CEO and Chua Seck Guan, the current Senior Vice President, as the Deputy CEO. Song will continue to serve as Advisor and Director of MSIG Malaysia.

Mr Song, a stalwart in the insurance industry with extensive experience, has held office as CEO for 20 years and has helmed MSIG Malaysia since July 2006. He has also served as a Management Committee Member of Persatuan Insurans Am Malaysia (PIAM) and held the position of Convenor of the Agency Affairs Sub-Committee.

Mr Fukuhara is currently Executive Director on the Board of Directors of MSIG Malaysia. In his new appointment, he will draw upon his expertise in the Malaysian market which he has acquired over time. Fukuhara joined the Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group (MSIG) in 1982 and has held various senior positions in the group, including Business Development, Marketing, Underwriting, Group International Business, and Corporate Planning. Before joining MSIG Malaysia, he was Planning Director of MSIG Holdings (Asia) Private Limited, which is based in Singapore.
