e-Invoice Implementation Effective 1 August 2024

Dear Valued Policyholders and Business Partners,

MSIG will be implementing e-Invoicing from 1 August 2024.

  • Insurance companies are granted approval by the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (“IRBM”) to issue consolidated e-Invoice for all its provision of products and services.
    • Accordingly, we will not be issuing validated individual e-Invoice (with QR code) to customers for transactions during the period of 1 August 2024 to 30 June 2025.
    • The existing invoice format, i.e. without QR code continues to be valid for businesses/individuals to substantiate for income tax deduction / relief purposes until 30 June 2025.
    • We seek your kind cooperation to update your profile with us by providing your Tax Identification Number (TIN), latest Business Registration Number (BRN) and Sales & Service Tax (SST) Number (if applicable) for e-Invoicing purposes. It is crucial for us to collect these details to ensure compliance with the e-Invoicing requirements and to enable the issuance of validated individual e-Invoice (with QR code) in the future when e-Invoice is fully implemented.

  • In addition, we have sent an SMS to our customers and may send more in the future with the following message:
    • RM0 MSIG: <IMPORTANT> Please update your personal and/or corporate details at MSIG Website>Contact Us>Update Tax Details for the purpose of e-Invoice issuance.
    • We understand the importance of online security and want to assure you that this message is indeed from MSIG and not a scam. We appreciate your vigilance and encourage you to update your details promptly to ensure a smooth transition to e-Invoicing.
