MSIG Malaysia in Support of the Joint Committee on Climate Change (JC3) Effort for SME

The Joint Committee on Climate Change (JC3) was established in September 2019 as a regulator-industry platform, aiming to pursue collaborative actions for building climate resilience within the Malaysia financial sector. The JC3 is co-chaired by Bank Negara Malaysia and Securities Commission Malaysia with members comprising of senior officials from Bursa Malaysia and 21 financial industry players. 

Furthermore, JC3 has also launched its official website and a dedicated ESG Jumpstart Information Portal for SMEs as part of the financial industry’s efforts to support the transition to sustainable practices and overall climate agenda.

  • In the JC3’s website, you may find useful information such as the national policies on climate change, past training materials and climate data catalogue as well as other information about JC3.

  • The ESG Jumpstart Information Portal for SMEs aims to be a one stop portal for Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to obtain information on available resources that are currently offered by the financial industry, government agencies and other agencies to assist SMEs in their sustainability journey. 

Within the information portal, SMEs may avail themselves to the useful information such as ESG Jumpstart Guide, capacity building programs, list of certification schemes, financial schemes and etc.

For any application of capacity building, certification, financing and incentive schemes listed in the website, SMEs can refer to the links within the ESG Jumpstart Portal to apply for the programs and schemes from the original website.
