Just when you thought Malaysia is outside the pacific ring of fire and being complacent to think that an earthquake could not happen in Malaysia, the 5th June incident which struck Ranau, Sabah was a reminder that we are also not spared. The 6.0 magnitude tremor that lasted for 60 seconds was the strongest earthquake to affect Malaysia since 1976. When it comes to disaster, there are simple things one can do to make him / her safer.

Because earthquakes happen without warning, being prepared in advance is critical to minimize damages and loss.
