Landslip or landslide

A typical fire or home insurance does not cover loss or damage to the insured property caused by landslip or landslide, which can result in significant damage to or even complete destruction of the property. While customers may choose to extend coverage to include the relevant peril cover currently offered under the Fire Tariff, any claims made thereunder is subject to an Excess of up to RM25,000. This Excess refers to the amount of loss that you have to bear before the insurance company pays for the balance of your damage claim. As this Excess can be considerably high, it may cause unexpected financial hardship to customers when faced with the costs to repair or rebuild their damaged property.

To alleviate the financial burden of owners of landed residential and light commercial properties* such as shop lots up to three storeys when the unfortunate occurs, MSIG now offers a Landslip or Landslide Add-on at an additional premium, that covers loss or damage to your insured property caused by landslip or landslide up to the specified Limit, at an Excess amount of your choice. This Add-on provides a cover on a first loss basis without Average; MSIG will pay up to your selected Limit subject to deduction of your selected Excess.
