What is Building Cost Calculator (BCC)?

The BCC is developed by the Persatuan Insurans Am Malaysia (PIAM) to provide the estimated rebuilding cost of your house based on the information you furnish in order to assist in estimating the sum that your house is to be insured for.

The accuracy of the information you enter in the BCC has a bearing on the final estimated value generated. Please visit https://bcc.piam.org.my/ and enter all the necessary details for a more accurate estimate.

Why is the Building Cost Calculator (BCC) introduced?

The BCC is introduced to assist consumers with estimating an adequate sum insured of their properties and to avoid underinsurance and inadequate compensation under their Fire and Houseowner Policies due to changes to their property value.

You are advised to provide the actual cost of rebuilding, including any renovation and inflation to avoid underinsurance.

How do I enrol for the policy?

Once you have completed your calculation using BCC, please print out the result and send it to us or your insurance adviser together with the completed proposal form for immediate processing.

You may find the proposal form in our Downloads section here.

How do I make a claim?

Please provide written notice to the Company with full details within 15 days of receipt of notice of or sustaining any accident, loss or damage. You may contact any MSIG Branch or your insurance adviser to obtain a copy of the claim form. Submit the completed claim form here to the Company together with all relevant documents as soon as possible.

How do I lodge a complaint if I am unhappy with the product or services?

If you have a complaint about our product or services, or you are not satisfied with the rejection or offer of any settlement of a claim, you should first try to resolve the complaint with our Customer Service Centre.

If you are still not satisfied with the decision, you can write either to the Customer Services Bureau of Bank Negara Malaysia or the Financial Markets Ombudsman Service (FMOS) (formerly known as Ombudsman for Financial Services (OFS)), free of charge.
