MSIG Moves into New Office
The move reflects company’s growth
Kuala Lumpur, 27 November 2014 - MSIG Insurance (Malaysia) Bhd (MSIG Malaysia), one of the leading general insurers in Fire, Engineering and Personal Accident classes and No.1 in Marine Cargo insurance has announced the relocation of its office to accommodate expansion. The company’s new corporate office in Kuala Lumpur is located at Level 15, Menara Hap Seng 2, Plaza Hap Seng, No 1, Jalan P Ramlee – just a few steps away from the old office in Menara Weld. The move took place 3 November.
“We were situated at our old office since 1998 when we were just 300 people. Since then, we have more than double our staff strength to 700. We have been adding office space in different floors within Menara Weld to accommodate our growth. Although our former office has served us well, we clearly needed more space and with our ambitious business plans ahead, it is more prudent to move to a new building with consolidated office space to accommodate our growth. With the support of our customers, I am proud to say MSIG staff demonstrated its enthusiasm by ensuring a successful move of its entire Head Office Operations, with over 5000 boxes of documents and Infrastructure in just one weekend. We were up and running on Day 1,” said Mr Chua Seck Guan, MSIG Malaysia Chief Executive Officer.
With the new office, employees are consolidated within six floors and it fosters better teamwork and efficiency as related teams are now situated together with more meeting and discussion areas being created. The new office is over 86,000 square feet and is able to accommodate to 1000 staff as MSIG Malaysia gears for more growth. It is currently the top three general insurance company with an expected Gross Written Premium of RM1.5 billion by year end.
For its business partners, it now has enlarged dedicated Agency areas for self service office facilities and an enlarged training room which has a seating capacity of 100 as MSIG continues to focus on providing learning and development training plans for its partners and staff. To enhance its employer value proposition, the new office is equipped with new workstations and designed to maximize natural lighting for a more natural feeling of open space for its employees.
Other than just business proposition, MSIG Malaysia chose Menara Hap Seng 2 as it is a Grade A office building and is certified as Green Building Index (GBI) compliant. This complements MSIG CSR commitment to the environment. MSIG Malaysia also invested in a new data centre using the latest technology which is energy efficient and environmentally friendly. It is equipped with a cooling system, fire suppression system using natural gas and ozone friendly materials and a lighting system which complied to green standard.
