MSIG Malaysia Appointed Mr. Chua Seck Guan as New Chief Executive Officer.

MSIG Insurance (Malaysia) Bhd, one of Malaysia’s leading general insurance companies, has appointed Chua Seck Guan as its new Chief Executive Officer.
 
Mr Chua succeeds Kenichi Fukuhara who will be returning to Tokyo to take up a new role in Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Japan as General Manager – Corporate Planning.
 
Mr Chua has served as MSIG Malaysia’s Deputy CEO since April last year and has spent his illustrious 27-year insurance career in various senior positions in the company, including business operations, business development, bancassurance, marketing and risk management prior to his new appointment.
MSIG Malaysia Chairman Dr Adli Ariff said; “We are very pleased to announce Chua Seck Guan’s appointment as the new CEO. MSIG has a great reputation (in Malaysia) and Chua’s depth and breadth of the local industry knowledge and experience will certainly place the company in a better position to move forward.”
 
“He has played key strategic and operational roles in charting the company’s growth and profitability since joining the management team in 1999. Chua also had the opportunity to experience three merger and six name change exercises as a result of the industry consolidation,” he added.
 
Mr Chua said he would continue to work on the plans laid by Fukuhara which were strategically planned to strengthen MSIG Malaysia’s market presence, including market leadership in marine cargo, fire and engineering insurance.
 
“The new role provides an exciting challenge for me to grow and expand MSIG’s business in Malaysia in tandem with the recovery of the nation’s economy,” he added.
 
Mr Chua, a Senior Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance, is Deputy Convenor of General Insurance Association of Malaysia’s agency sub-committee and also serves as Director of ISM Insurance Services Malaysia Bhd.
